The developers say they are ultimately looking to help «take cardiac diagnostics out of the narrowly focused profession of a cardiologist and into much wider medicine, into the focus of sports teams’ physicians and special service experts, as well as into the life of unskilled household customers and users at workplaces.»
ScreenCardio-NN, a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod-based Clever Innovation Business Incubator, made its first major headlines a year ago with its sophisticated Heart Assistant gadget for cardiac activity monitoring. The company then claimed the device «is unparalleled elsewhere in the world» and could benefit both medical pros and ordinary cardiac patients. To develop the Heart Assistant the company teamed up with specialists at the Nizhny Novgorod Medical Academy. At the beginning of last year the innovators said the device would find its way into every family among the rank and file.
Just recently they unveiled another brainchild, a system called GeoRhythm. The project reportedly calls for the development of dedicated software as well as hardware solutions for physiological screening, based on what’s known in medical science as «GAHRV," geometric analysis of heart rate variability.
The developers are working to create a new class of gadgets for noninvasive diagnostics of the human body. Enhanced with state-of-the-art ECG capabilities, the devices are expected to be able to evaluate the physical state of the body as a whole, both at home and in environments where people are impacted by an array of external factors.
Medical professionals and patients may find them useful as a helper in therapy and post-surgery rehab which could assess the efficacy of therapeutic approaches or convalescence programs. Employers and sports coaches may benefit, too, as the new system will let them know if somebody in a company or team has taken psycho stimulants, and will also screen the physical state of an athlete, long haul truck driver, pilot, railroad locomotive driver, etc.
The project developers say markets for the system are wide and include the manufacturers of medical instruments and gadgets for patients and athletes, as well as auto makers developing their own driver health monitoring systems. According to ScreenCardio-NN’s business model, production can be outsourced or licenses sold to the above manufacturers.
ScreenCardio-NN announced on its page on the Clever Incubator website that the company seeks to help «take cardiac diagnostics out of the narrowly focused profession of a cardiologist and into much wider medicine, into the focus of sports teams’ physicians and special service experts, as well as into the life of unskilled household customers and users at workplaces.»
