What we’re going to test
We are interested in testing the potential of Senolytics, the removal of “death resistant” toxic cells that accumulate in the body with age causing inflammation and damage to organs and tissue. Removal of these cells has been shown to have various health benefits and we are interested in exploring the potential of this approach in relation to lifespan.
The primary focus of this initial research is to examine the effects of senolytics on lifespan and also to examine the effects of senolytics on stem cells and their function.
Combination Testing
We also plan to combine Senolytics with stem cell therapy, in other words our plan is to remove the senescent cells from the body then replace them with fresh new stem cells. We believe there is a good chance for these approaches to translate directly to humans as both species share the same mechanisms and potentially significantly increase healthy lifespan.
We are launching a crowd funding campaign in April 2016 to raise the first 50k Euro we need to begin this important work but we could progress even faster and test the more interesting possibilities sooner given additional funds. Our current project proposal is attached and is what we are currently testing and also an information document about MMTP and our approach. We will create a robust proposal for Stem cell + Senolytics once we have this initial data and additional funding is available. A meeting with our research team and lead researcher can be arranged upon request.
